STATE OF THE UNION

Bush delivers the state of the Union to Congress tomorrow. I will be sure to watch, but I imagine it will be the same old song and dance. We'll see...

I am finally over the jet lag. Flying was a total nightmare. More on that later...maybe. Seems like I'm a little like Bush tonight - little disclosure and no definite timeline.

What's your opinion of Bush? If you believe the polls, he's the least popular president...maybe, ever.

Bush and Blair have both lost my confidence so much that I am no longer able to believe that anything they say or do is out of the motivation that they claim it is out of. The last American that I spoke to on the subject remarked that Bush never talks about anything other than his war of terror: apparently it's as if he has no other domestic policies. That's not the way to run a country. Not a democratic one, at least.

The speech made me so upset that I was up until 2 am worrying about it and had bad dreams when I did doze off. I wish somebody could reason with him. Either he is completely out of touch with what's going on in this country and ignorant of what's important for this country's future...or I am. But one of us is very wrong. I KNOW he is wrong about his educational initiative and I can't wait until it's finally over. I'm praying something worse won't take its place. As far as most of what he said, all I heard was more empty promises to add to all the ones he made on the campaign trail.

BTW Martin, it seems I'm a bit of a work-aholic, and I must soon make the time to write several people some emails, you included. Hope you are doing well! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
